Vacation Part 1 – Ohio, the Beautiful

Last week, we were blessed with the opportunity to go on our first family vacation as a party of three. We’ve been wanting to go to Ohio to see Byron’s family for some time now, and we decided there was no better time than the present. We planned a trip that included a mini-vacation in Chicago, took a week off work, and headed north!

Ohio is beautiful. I’d never been before, and I didn’t expect to find it so charming. There’s corn everywhere! We really enjoyed spending time with Byron’s sweet grandparents, going to Carillon Park (a historical village), playing at the park, and spending time with family. One of the highlights for me was visiting Byron’s cousin, who owns a lovely farm house surrounded by crops and fireflies. I found myself dreaming of such a life! A beautiful landscape, mild weather, no tornadoes… sign me up!

I can’t wait to go back, at which point I’ll have to convince myself not to move there. I hope you enjoy some of our pictures from the Ohio portion of our trip! I’ll update soon with Part 2 (Chicago) and Part 3 (St. Louis, ending our trip).

Did you go on vacation this year? Where would you have gone if you could’ve?
