Easy banana nut bread recipe

What’s better than bread? Not much, right?

Every Christmas, my mom wins the hearts of friends and family everywhere with her grand assortment of homemade breads in various flavors. (My personal favorite is the pistachio almond, if you’re reading this, Mom). She spends a lot of time making the loaves, and they’re all gone in about 1/12 that time.

So when I craved some good ol’ fashioned banana bread, but my mom was 100 miles away, I decided to give it a try on my own. It’s not her recipe – so, naturally, it’s not as good – but if you want to make easy, delicious banana bread in your home, I strongly recommend giving this a try:

You’ll need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz (1 stick) butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • walnuts
  • 1/3 cup water

First, heat the oven to 325 degrees. Coat a 9 x 5 (or similar) loaf pan, and set aside.

Next, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt and set it aside:

Melt the butter for easier mixing. Then, whisk it together with the sugar:

Add the eggs:

Mash the bananas:

And add them to the sugar/butter mixture. Then, add half of the flour and half of the water to the mixture:

Add the rest of your flour and water until combined.

Finally, add the walnuts and mash together. I used about a cup:

Pour ingredients into pan, and place in oven:

Bake approximately one hour until cooked throughout.

    I have always been a fan of bananas and any recipe that includes banana is my favorite. 😀 I am going to try this recipe as soon as I get off my laptop and also recommend it to my fellow mates who are a fan of cooking.
